To get started with Invisalign, we will use 3D imaging equipment to make a map of your teeth placement. Then a computer will design alignment trays that will gently and gradually shift your teeth into the correct positions.
Trays are replaced with a new set approximately every two weeks. Each new set will force your teeth gently into the proper alignment positions. Many people experience only a slight discomfort during the few couple of days wearing a new tray set.
Trays are removed for eating, so there are no restrictions on what foods you can eat. While we discourage sweet carbonated beverages, as long as your trays are removed, drinks are also unrestricted. You will need to wear your trays 20 to 22 hours each day, including while you sleep. Before reinserting your trays following a meal you will need to brush and floss.
